Discover the magical West Sumatra Culture through its beautiful and majestic music and dance at the Indonesian Embassy.

Tonight, you can join the ambassador and step on Indonesian soil to experience their fantastic culture without ever getting on a plane!

This is truly a beautiful and unique embassy. We have a fantastic opportunity to tour one of the most attractive embassies in Washington D.C., housing the diplomats of our Asian friends!

This event is extra special as you will have a rare opportunity to experience the dancing and music of this unique Indonesian group performing for tonight only!

FEATURING:

1) INDONESIAN BUFFET:

Enjoy a special taste of Indonesian cuisine prepared by a native chef!

2) OPEN BAR:

Experience a variety of wines, beer and other nonalcoholic drinks commonly found in Indonesia.

3) LIVE MUSIC AND  DANCE PRESENTATION:

Experience an extraordinary dance presentation unique to Indonesia. Dressed in original costumes, these dancers are bound to astound you with the moves they could only have learned from West Sumatra.

FYI - About the Instruments.  The principle Minang instrument is the talempong, a set of small, round bronze gongs played with mallets. Others include the bansi (bamboo flute), the Gendang (one-sided drum) and Saluang (like the flute making from bamboo).

4) DIPLOMATIC GREETING FROM THE AMBASSADOR:

Hear from His Excellency Rosan Roeslani and he officially welcomes you to the embassy.  Network with the diplomats on hand to answer any questions about Indonesia.

5) INDONESIAN ART:

One of the most fantastic elements of this embassy is the wide array of Indonesian paintings, sculptures, unique buildings, and the unique architecture of the building itself. There will be a special presentation on Indonesian traditional textile, which is Gerinsing from Bali and Jelulur from Lampung.

6) INDONESIAN FILM:

A special cultural and tourism film will be previewed highlighting the beauty and culture of Indonesia.
