A portion of your registration fee will be donated to the Trust for the National Mall for the restoration of Lafayette Park, located just beyond the White House gates on Pennsylvania Ave. The park is a living legacy to France’s role in American history, dating back to Pierre Charles L’Enfant’s original plans for the city. With statues to Comte de Rochambeau and Marquis de Lafayette, Lafayette Park is a symbol of the importance of French American relations.
Today, the park is in disrepair and needs to be restored to a level of excellence befitting the park’s history and prominent location. As 2026 approaches and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Trust is leading, and wants to have completed in 2026, the effort to restore the fountains, replant the gardens, and create a safer, more visitor-friendly park for generations to come.
