Journey into the heart of Africa as we experience the mysteries and the culture of Benin! 

Step onto foreign soil as we travel halfway across the world without ever leaving the District for a multi-faceted unique Saturday Afternoon.  Join your fellow young professionals for a special day of native food, drinks, music, cultural dancing, fashion, diplomats, film, and more! 

FEATURING: 

A) Food from Benin
Prepared by a native Chef: You cannot experience anything more native than this! The chef will prepare a special buffet of dishes native to Benin. Challenge your palates to the wonderful course (and desserts) as if fresh from her native homeland. 

B) Benin Bar (Open Bar): 
Sample the best and most unique native beers as well as other African wines.

C) Special Musical and Dance Presentation from Benin:
Enjoy an authentic Benin tribal dance. Experience a very unique performance of Beniese music and dance, along with a cultural explanation as to the each element's origin, style and meaning. 

D) Diplomatic Greeting from Ambassador Hector Posset: 
Hear from the Ambassador and feel free to schmooze and network with him and the diplomatic staff, all of whom will be invited to this special afternoon, and many of whom are expected to attend. 

E) Benin Art: 
The embassy as arranged for the presentation of traditional Masks, Attire and Fabrics 
as well as other special artifacts and paintings unseen to most Americans' eyes. The staff will be on hand to personally discuss the art's origins and meaning with you. 

F) Benin Cultural Film: 
At your leisure, you are invited to watch recurring films showcasing Benin’s cities, mountains, borders, landscape, people, tribes, animals, safari tours, everyday culture and much much more.
